Niemand past precies in een hokje en dat is precies waar de voorstelling Boys won't be boys over gaat. Het gezelschap groeide in no time uit tot een groot maatschappelijk theaterproject waar inmiddels meer dan 120 spelers de ruimte krijgen om zich in vrijheid uit te spreken als mens en theatermaker. In november 2024 speelt de voorstelling in Theater Junushoff. Het wordt een echte Wageningse editie en daarvoor is de organisatie op zoek naar Wageningse performers.   

Er is ruimte voor iedereen: man, vrouw, homo, hetero, bi, trans, non-binair en queers met of zonder podiumervaring. In dit project word je door het Boys Won’t Be Boys team begeleid om een korte act te maken van wat jou bezighoudt of inspireert rondom de thema's mannelijkheid, identiteit en seksualiteit. Dit kan in de meest uiteenlopende vormen: van muziek, dans of theater tot poëzie of zang. Samen vormen de acts een inspirerende revue van verhalen dat we aan het publiek presenteren, op 2 en 3 november in Junushoff. 

Deze Wageningse editie van Boys Won't be Boys is in samenwerking met Shout Wageningen, de bblthk, theater Junushoff, het Cultuurfonds, Welsaam en natuurlijk Boys Won't be Boys.

Na aanmelden krijg je een uitnodiging voor kennismaking met Tamar Lagas, de regisseur van Boys won't be boys. Hou hierna rekening met zes momenten aanwezig zijn: drie contactmomenten met de regisseur, één bouwdag met alle deelnemers en twee voorstellingen.

De data zijn:  

• 25 of 27 september voor 2 uur aansluitend (exacte dag en tijd is in overleg met de regisseur). 
• 2 repetitiemomenten van 2 uur, waarbij je kunt kiezen uit de volgende dagen: 11 oktober, 16 oktober, 25 oktober 
• 1 november is de bouwdag en generale repetitie (hele dag) 
• 2 november is de première (avond) 
• 3 november is de tweede voorstelling (middag)

De cast van Boys won’t be Boys Wageningen is compleet. Aanmelden is helaas niet meer mogelijk. Een kaartje kopen voor de voorstelling kan al wel.

No one fits the stereotypical label of ‘man’ perfectly. This intersectional thinking is exactly what the performance “Boys Won't Be Boys” is all about. The once small organisation behind this performance has quickly grown into a large theatre project, where more than 120 actors are given the space on stage to express themselves freely.  
 
This November there will be an authentic Wageningen edition in theatre Junushoff. For this we are now looking for Wageningen performers! 
 
Anyone can join: male, female, gay, straight, bi, trans, non-binary and queer with or without stage experience. In this project you will be guided by the Boys Won't Be Boys team to create a short act of what concerns or inspires you around the themes of masculinity, identity and sexuality. This can take the most diverse forms: from music, dance or theater to poetry, spoken word and or song. Together the acts form the inspiring line-up of stories that we will present on November 2 and 3 in Junushoff. 
 
Both Dutch and English speaking are welcome to sign up.

The cast has been completed.

After registering, you will receive an invitation to meet Tamar Lagas, the director of Boys Won't Be Boys. Take into account that there will six mandatory moments of attendance when joining: three contact moments with the director, one construction day with all participants and two performances.  

The dates are:  

• 25th or 27th September for 2 hours. 
• 2 rehearsal moments of 2 hours, where you can choose from the following days: 11th, 16th or 25th October 
• 1st November is the construction day and dressed rehearsal (all day) 
• 2nd November is the premiere (evening) 
• 3rd November is the second performance (afternoon)
